Rudder Pedals

The rudder pedals are an easy project. They are constructed by fabricating the brake pedals and attaching them to the frame. Then brake cylinders are added and the assembly is bolted into the fuselage.

Once the brake pedals are primed and riveted together, the assembly is quick and easy.

Here is a closeup of the pilots pedals with the brake cylinders attached. Washers are used on the bolts to line up the cylinders.

The completed assembly installed in place. I'll add the hoses later. The rudder brace is not shown in this photo. It attaches to the firewall and supports the crossbraces to the left of center.

This is the rudder brace. The brace is riveted on, and the pedals are bolted to it. The brace has been trimmed so that it is only long enough to reach from the firewall to the support block.
